I recently got an email about what we are all supposed to concentrate on at each Belt Rank. Well it turns out each rank has a different idea associated with it.
White Belt - Fitness
Yellow Belt - Concentration
Blue Belt - Right Attitude
Red Belt - Perseverance
Brown Belt - Self Control
Dahn Bo Nim - Indomitable Spirit
Black Belt and Up - Humility
There you have it. As your progress through rank do not forgot what you learned at your previous belt level. These are all very important characteristics of not only a good Martial Artist but of a Good Person.

 If you have ever tried to find one of the nicest Kuk Sool schools in the U.S. through the website for Kuk Sool HQ (kuksoolwon.com) you may have noticed you can’t find a link. Of course, the school I am referring to is Kuk Sool Won of Myerland in Houston, TX. Run by Sa Bum Nim’s Mike and Kaori Nebgen.

According to the World Kuk Sool Won Association homepage there are 24 different traditional Korean Royal Court weapons in the curriculum plus Buddhist and Tribal weaponry. In this list I will give some descriptions as well as pictures and video to show the different weapons and styles of Kuk Sool Won.
Sword (Gum & Jung Gum)
In Kuk Sool I have seen two types of long swords used. The first is called a Gum which is traditionally a curved blade you see used when people are cutting in Kuk Sool and the other sword is a Jung Gum or traditional, Straight Bladed Korean Sword. Round 2 of our Kuk Sool Won Wallpaper releases. This week I have posted 3 Wallpapers for all you Martial Arts fans of Kuk Sool Won that want to see more archery. Archery in Kuk Sool Won is one of the cooler things you can learn but is taught by a very select group of instructors in Kuk Sool. If you ever get the chance to learn some Kuk Sool Archery skills be receptive and practice. None of the images below were shot by me, just formatted them as Desktop Wallpaper Backgrounds for your computer.
