Learn how to better use Pressure Points in Self-Defense or Combat sports. This book is written by a Korean practitioner and has 4.5 out of 5 stars on Amazon.

Pressure Points have always had a leading role in Martial Arts. It so happens that Kuk Sool Won has pressure point targeting in almost every set of techniques. Emphasis on Pressure Points comes in Blue Belt with Hand and Foot Pressure Point striking (Maek Chi Ki and Maek Cha Ki).

It will always be tough (until you are a Master) to locate every Pressure Point for every technique. However, there are diagrams and and lists to help you locate and name each pressure point. Kuk Sool Won of Burton (Flint, Michigan) has put up a guide to help us a bit. This is a nice guide for both of the Blue Belt Pressure Point Striking sets because the name of each pressure point is listed in Korean. They also supply the diagram of the Lung Meridian below.

Fresh release from the Great Lakes Tournament in Troy, MI. Master Gary Evarts does a pretty awesome breaking demo. Short but sweet. Breaking is something that takes a lot of concentration and proper technique to execute. You will hardly ever have a perfect breaking demo so always give it a second go if something messes up.

Just releasing a personal video of Master Harmon at Troy 2006. I don’t know the name of the technique set Master Harmon is doing but it is pretty awesome. I also thought it would be fun to watch the other Master Harmon (Choon Ok) also doing the same technique set. Both happen to be doing a little work on PSBN David. Both are amazing at Kuk Sool. Both are extremely nice and approachable if you see them at tournament or seminar.

As many of you know I am one of the Instructors here at Kuk Sool Won of St Paul in Minnesota. But when College is in session I am Head Instructor for Kuk Sool Won at Purdue University. Fortunately for you, our club just ordered a bunch of hand wraps for the kickboxing / pad-strike workouts I like to run. Below is a video describing how we wrap our hands to keep our knuckles from getting cut up and raw when we do our Kickboxing style workouts. Maybe another time I will get to describing what the workout consists of.

Kuk Sool Won at West Point is always talked about in a lot of schools but I personally have never seen anything about it. That is, until today. Big Thank You again to Kwan Jang Nim Gene Gause again for releasing another great video. Three big Kuk Sool names make appearances in this video and they are Kuk Sa Nim, Kwan Jang Nim Sims, and Sa Bum Nim Tim Challans.

It is a big deal that Kuk Sool was the only Martial Art chosen for this elite Military Academy. It speaks wonders about the comprehensiveness of Kuk Sool and how easily it can be applicable to real life situations today.
