Milan Entertainment contacted me the other week to see if I would review their upcoming DVD release called Shaolin Legends. So I said, Why Not? The movie is a video recording of a stage show. The whole story is about the monks. There is no commentary, only music, martial arts, and other various Shaolin Ki stuff.
The DVD comes out this coming Tuesday. Of course I got my copy early. So here are my pros and cons.
Pros
- Monk life is interesting to watch
- The Martial Arts that Shaolin Monks do is always amazing
- Sweet Weapons Like Rope Dart are sprinkled in with the story
Cons
- I wish they would have let the Monks do more traditional stuff
- If they would have filmed it like the trailer above it could have been that much better
Overall, I liked it. I think it’s so interesting these guys grow up meditating and doing Martial Arts to gain a deeper understanding of life. Super Interesting.
You may have heard of this before, which I think may been a little better: Shaolin Wheel of Life. However, this Shaolin Legends DVD is still a good watch.
